Cappy's Corner
Four Matches in four days! We stopped the 1st match in the first round, stopped the 2nd match in the second round, got the decision 14 - 10 in the third and scraped through 23 -23, judges deciding in our favor in the fourth.
We are going for the Gold - we know the hi's and low's - we know only one Team wins the Gold

Leaving for Nationals
Queen leaves today for Colorado Springs with the Regional Team, headed by Tom Mustin. She is fit, on weight and confident. This is the most important National Tournament of her boxing career, and she is ready to be the Queen of the Ring that she is. Coaches Cappy Kotz and Tricia Turton, from the Queen Team, will be joining Queen in Colorado Springs Friday and Saturday for the semi finals and finals. Hail the Road to the Gold!

Closing in on Nationals
Ever had trouble breathing? To enter the Boxer's Zone, the breath needs to descend from the head to the chest to the belly to the pelvic bowl. Once the breath is at your very core, a "lid" is put in place, and then you have contained energy that can be used as you need. Contained energy is confidence, the kind of confidence that allows a Boxer to do what she needs to do in the ring to win.

Cappy's Corner
There are 35 Boxers in Queen's weight division. Normally it's 12 or 15. Everyone wants to make a try for a spot on the USA Olympic Trial Box-offs!

Cappy's Corner
One week out from a major event is a special experience. A Boxer's Zone closes down - taking an internal journey in the proximity of public attention can be complicated.
Good luck to all of us!
Good luck to all of us!

Cappy's Corner
Yesterday, Saturday 6/11/2011 was noted for this quote:
"When we Visualize our future, we will know how afraid or eager we are to proceed."

From Cappy
Yesterday Tricia and I ran Queen's RW (Roadwork). Justice's training report earlier this week said she has significantly increased her speed, but witnessing it first hand is a completely different experience!
She came down the track with absolute commitment - mind, body and emotion! Fast, strong and unfaltering. Let's all of use this image as we set our sights on Nationals and national QTeam awareness.

Getting ready for Nationals
The Queen Team used January - March 2011 to get in shape. Getting a twelve person Team in shape is no laughing matter. Lots of new muscles to engage and strengthen - Media interviews to train for, a website to build, all kinds of climbing in and out of the ring figuratively and literally - good stuff!
April and May the pressure built. Queen competed in Ecuador and secured her spot at the USA Olympic Box-offs (coming up in January 2012), while the rest of the Team geared up for the Flash Mob. The Sponsorship Development Crew taxed their stamina and the Coaches held steady as the strain of progress built.
The Flash Mob, June 4th, was a victorious celebration for all - the tension broke, the city poured from its doors to welcome Queen in all of her shining glory. One day later we started intensive training in preparation for Nationals.
These are exciting times. King 5 is all over the story, Queen, day by day, transforms into a vision of triumph, and the rest of the Team is changing right along with her
